Social media is a powerful tech tool that can bring collective creativity, collective well-being, collective problem solving but social media has its dark side too. It gives instant gratification. The generation - Y "I gotta have it right now" mindset. This mindset has great pitfalls. Depression cases have been on rise. Real world vs. Virtual World distinction is diminishing. Immediate attainability of satisfaction doesn't work in real world and true relationships. Technology is unstoppable force - so what we do is we harness it for good. Darkness cannot be fought. Bringing light removes the darkness.
Join us for an insightful class on how to transform our use of social media with mindfulness, harnessing for goodness, creativity and well- being, understanding true relationships, observing the self and keeping away from side effects of instant gratification.
Held at the Meditation Museum II, 1984 Chain Bridge Road, Tysons, Virginia. Free Event – Contributions Appreciated. RSVP at www.meditationmuseum.org/meditation-events
